Three Winters ago, we started the LR chapter of l’Ordre du Bons Temps / The Order of Good Cheer. It is the oldest Social Club in North America dating back 1605 at Port Royal. The purpose then and now is/was the same-to survive the winter blues through a Sunday afternoon/ evening of friendship, food and music!
14-16 locals take turns every 2 weeks (Sunday afternoon/evening) to prepare a meal that is held at a participant’s house followed by an evening of music entertainment in the basement. It has worked very well and participants look forward to the event.
We begin immediately after the New Year and continue to Easter.
